When to Replace

Signs Your Gutters Need to Be Replaced

Repair makes sense when the problem is one leaky corner or a loose downspout. Replacement makes sense when the whole system is failing. Watch for these signs:

Leaks at multiple seams, even after they have been resealed
Sections sagging or pulling away from the roofline
Rust, cracks, or holes along the gutter runs
Water spilling over the front during normal rain
Peeling paint, stains, or rot on the fascia board behind the gutters
Pooling water or erosion near your foundation
Gutters that are 20 or more years old, or sectional gutters with seams every 10 feet

Inspection

We look at the gutters, downspouts, fascia, and drainage around the house before we quote anything.

Removal

We take down the old gutters and downspouts.

Fascia check

With the old gutters off, we check the fascia board for rot or water damage. If the wood needs work, we show you before we hang anything. We handle soffit and fascia repair in-house, so it gets done in the same project.

Seamless install

We form new seamless gutters on-site, cut to the exact length of your roofline. No seams along the runs means fewer places to leak.

Downspouts and drainage

New downspouts are placed to move water away from your foundation.

Cleanup and walkthrough

We clean up the job site and walk the finished work with you.

Upgrade While You Replace

Replacement is the best time to fix what the old system got wrong.

Size. Many older homes have gutters that are too small for the roof. Moving up in size handles heavy spring rain and snowmelt better.
Material. We install aluminum, steel, and copper gutters. Aluminum is the most common choice. Steel adds strength. Copper is a long-lasting premium option.
Gutter guards. Adding guards at the same time keeps new gutters clear of leaves, cottonwood fluff, and pine needles. See our gutter guards page.
Heated gutters. For roofs that build up snow and ice in winter, heat cable can be installed with the new system.

How long does gutter replacement take?

Most homes are done in a single day. Larger homes or jobs that include fascia repair can take longer. Your estimate will tell you what to expect.

Do you replace the fascia too?

If the fascia behind your old gutters is rotted, yes. We check it once the old gutters come down and show you any damage before we fix it. We handle soffit and fascia work in-house.

Can I replace just part of my gutters?

Sometimes. If one side of the house has failed and the rest is in good shape, a partial replacement can make sense. We will tell you honestly which option fits.

Why seamless gutters?

Sectional gutters have seams every few feet, and seams are where leaks start. Seamless gutters are formed on-site in one continuous piece per run, so there are far fewer places for water to get out.
